On Friday, June 25, the Rocky Mountain Aphasia Chorale will hold their 5th concert. The Chorale was launched by our very own Rebekah Stewart in the summer of 2018. Their mission is, “To create an inclusive community for people from all walks of life to come together and use their strengths and talents in a high quality choral environment.” Despite the challenges the language disorder presents, survivors with Aphasia are given a space to reconnect with the local community and celebrate strengths such as singing. Members consist of: Survivors with Aphasia, Spouses, Children, Friends, Social Workers, Therapists, and Physicians. The Chorale has received media coverage, performed at the beginning of the day in the Colorado State House of Representatives floor chambers, AND performed at a luncheon for the Lt. Governor. They have experienced quite a bit of success over the years. This summer, the Chorale will be premiering an original song written by one of the members!
